university prep art & design

University Prep Art & Design is operated jointly by the College for Creative Studies (CCS) and the Henry Ford Learning Institute. It enrolls approximately 800 students in grades 6-12 and is located on the campus of CCS. As part of a larger community of college students and professionals, University Prep Art & Design students also learn interaction skills with college students and using shared public spaces in appropriate ways. Students take art classes five days a week and have access to world-class instructors, resources and facilities of CCS. 

baltimore design school

Baltimore Design School provides middle and senior high school students with a solid foundation of design and studio skills followed by intensive academics and design study, by completion of four years of study in one of three tracks in architecture/construction design and management, graphic design/interactive media production, and fashion design followed by three years of career and technical education (CTE) training. Small Schools by Design, Inc. wrote the original proposal submitted to the Baltimore School Board and developed the entire school curriculum and participated in the development of the architectural master plan.

schools of choice and parental options

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) is known for innovation in education. The school district has been a leader in the Schools of Choice programs for decades and continues to develop and implement cutting-edge models for delivery of curriculum that will prepare students for careers of tomorrow while utilizing emerging technologies. For more than 50 years, MDCPS has been at the forefront of the choice movement in education, having established Henry S. West Laboratory School in 1954, as an experimental school of choice associated with the School of Education at the University of Miami. This initiative was followed by the development and implementation of  50 programs highlighted by Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) and the School for School for Advanced Studies (SAS).

Design and Architecture Senior High School (DASH)

The vision of DASH is to educate talented students to become confident and innovative thinkers through interdisciplinary challenges in the visual arts in preparation for college and career in the design world. The mission is to provide a high level, integrated education in design and academics, and to use both traditional faculty and career professionals to facilitate learning within a well-designed, cutting edge learning environment. DASH is a premiere art and design high school in the country with programs in Architecture/Interior Design, Industrial Design, Film and Entertainment Technology, Fashion Design and Visual Communications/Graphics. Approximately 98% of the graduates go on to 4-year universities art and design colleges acquiring 20 million dollars in scholarships annually.

School for Advanced Studies (SAS)

SAS is a combined effort of Miami-Dade College (MDC) and Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS). The school was founded in 1988 as a small school designed for motivated and academically talented 11th and 12th grade students whose needs were not met in the traditional high school setting. Students who meet admission requirements are enrolled in dual enrollment, Advanced Placement and college courses. Graduates receive an Associate of Arts degree simultaneously with their high school diploma.
